Anger is a hot rock

If you are angry, think of it as a burning hot rock in your hand. You can hold it and hurt yourself. You can throw it and hurt someone else. Or, you can just let it go.

We work in a hugely pressured industry, tensions are usually high and it's on the edge all the time.

Keeping it all inside you, can make it build up beyond control.

Suddenly your snapping at crew members for silly mistakes or hearing a tone in someones voice that's not there.

Couple high stress levels with the tiredness that sets in - we all blow up sometimes.

Or you may just have had a terrible day and are simply angry at the world!


That is ok! Anger is ok!

BUT...its what you do with it that matters here...


If you are angry, think of it as a burning hot rock in your hand. You can hold it and hurt yourself. You can throw it and hurt someone else. Or, you can just let it go.

Shouting and banging around will solve nothing. It only breeds more tension which breeds tension anger in those around you and on and on...

Taking it out on someone who does or doesn't deserve it, achieves nothing, bar you both feel angry now and on and on...

Try simply letting it go.

I can hear your anger at the above line already... no it is not easy. Yet, it does work.

Now this sounds silly, yet try it next time... SING A SONG OUT LOUD... LAUGH OUT LOUD... no reason and no care, just do it...

Suddenly your anger is gone and those around you will relax...
